Hello, my name is Dr. Todd Newton. I was born in Arcadia, California in 1962. After High School graduation, I attended the University of California at Irvine where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences upon graduation in 1984. I then attended the University Of Southern California School Of Dentistry, Class of 1988.
During my four years as a Dental Student at USC, I enjoyed a few earned privileges. As a sophomore, I was asked to be a preclinical teacher’s assistant (also known as a TA) and continued helping instruct Freshman Dental Students for my remaining 3 years. Another privilege was being selected as one of 6 students into a clinically advanced selective for the treatment of full mouth rehabilitation cases with two dedicated instructors.
Upon graduation in 1988, I received a few awards. As a graduating student in the top 10% of my class (#9 of 130), I was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary fraternity. I also accumulated the top grade average for Operative Dentistry competency exams, thus earning the Rex Ingram award for excellence in Operative Dentistry. During my clinical experience at USC, I always fabricated all of my patient’s crowns and bridges (both porcelain and gold) and I believe that helped me to receive the Charles S. Pincus award for excellence in Cosmetic/Aesthetic Dentistry. The most rewarding recognition, however, was being appointed to the staff of Clinical Instructors, where I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to teach the junior and senior dental students on actual patients on the school’s clinic floor. As a matter of fact, I continued to teach one day a week for nine years while maintaining my own private practice in Arcadia, California until moving to Henderson, Nevada and joining the Warm Springs Dental practice and to be a co-founder of Anthem Village Dental.
During nine years of private practice in Arcadia, I was also very involved in the Community. I was involved in the local Rotary International Club, eventually leaving as a Past President and Paul Harris Fellow. I also found a great deal of satisfaction serving in the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce for almost 4 years, only to turn down an Executive Director position due to the move here to Nevada. I worked with the local elementary schools for early dental habit instructor and also with the local senior center with annual health fair screenings.
I know in my heart that moving to Henderson, NV and joining with partners Dr. Nisson and Dr. Timpson was the right thing to do. Being a husband, father, and football/baseball/basketball coach with two sons Tyler and R J has kept me more than busy when not directly involved in building our two dental practices. At both practices I have the honor to provide the highest level of dental treatment in the manner I was trained to do as an individual, yet collect the benefits of professional input and deep friendship from Dr. Nisson and Dr. Timpson and our caring, handpicked and long term staff as a business partner.
